This was an enjoyable assignment for the Besso’s Logo contest held by the AIGA. In learning about brand identity, our task was to develop a logo for the imaginary coffee shop, Besso’s. Once the logos were created we then needed to develop stationaries. To add to this our instructor wanted us to generate a Graphics Standards Guide. This was a very challenging task, and I went through many many many revisions. I find the hardest part of this assignment was developing a logo that wasn’t clique or dull.
Designing stationaries was a first for me. This was demanding in that I wanted the stationaries to differ from one another, but still be unified. Constructing the graphic standards guide was also an enjoyable assignment. I've found that the challenge of this project lies within the freedom we have to define every parameter of the Besso's coffee shop brand. Since this was my first GSG, I found it to be rather exciting. I am very pleased with its out come and hope it's very understandable to its viewers.
