This website started off as a class assignment for an AIT class and has been accepted as the official AIT website. The assignment was to choose an existing website and re-design it. I chose the AIT website because my professor mentioned that the AIT department’s website was in need of an overhaul. So, I set out to redesign the site.
My first steps to rebuilding their site were to generate a sense of brand identity. To do this I developed a concrete logo, color choice, and adopted the department’s slogan and tagline. After a few weeks of revising the logo, I started constructing the website. My goal for this site was to produce a composition that was inviting and interesting to both students and faculty. Also, since the site is always frequently updated by staff, I designed the layout with the potential to incorporate a CMS, such as Drupal.
